Erik J. Holmberg, whose highly appreciated paperback on Athens appeared in this series, here continues his accounts of ancient Greek sites. He describes Delphi, the holy place of Apollo, and Olympia, where the Olympic Games were held. The monuments in both these places are first shown in their historical context, after which a description is given of the cult-places as they appeared at different moments of time. The book is a welcome addition as a text-book for University courses in Classical archaeology.
